Of all the markets I have worked in throughout Central and Eastern Europe, there is no question in my mind that Romania was probably hit the hardest. Not just in terms of decreased sales and a shrinking market, but in the attitude and confidence of its business leaders.
Years of unrestrained spending, cheap lending and failure to implement financial reforms left Greece badly exposed when the global economic downturn struck. This whisked away a curtain of partly fiddled statistics to reveal debt levels and deficits that exceeded limits set by the euro zone.
Be careful: the clock is ticking and time is running up! There is no space for delays and indecisiveness! Every one of us must be careful with budgets and costs because this crisis has not passed globally.
Some companies have reassigned the tasks of the employees who were laid off, others are going through internal reorganizing, they reset their priorities and responsibilities. In other words, positions are changing within organizations, in the benefit or in the detriment of the employees.
