CIO Council Member
Having more than 20 years of IT experience in banking, George Lazăr was more than 10 years IT Director in 2 Romanian banks and another 10 years in various managerial positions. His expertise covers both IT and business areas: strategic planning, banking processes, application development, security, critical infrastructure, budgets, risk analysis, project management, people management and so on.
George coordinated many complex IT projects covering all banking processes, from the RFP phase, selection, acquisition or development, implementation, to maintenance. These projects include Core banking replacements, Cards, Payments, PSD2, Loan origination.
He has a bachelor degree in Mathematics (from the University of Mathematics in Bucharest – in French Language), a bachelor degree in Statistics and Informatics (from the Bucharest University of Economic Studies) and an MBA degree from City University of Seattle.
George was Board Member of CIO Council between 2012 and 2022.
