Lack of optimism among Serbian CEOs
The majority of the CEOs surveyed (58,14%) think that 2010 business year will bring stagnation, 18,60% believe the economical crisis will deepen, while 23,26% are optimistic about the business perspectives. For most of them, business restructuring and cost reduction were the most important activities in the previous business year.
The factors that influenced most the CEOs job satisfaction and motivation in the previous year are the opportunities to create new solutions and the level of autonomy.
The results show that most of the general managers are loyal to their industry, and they would not change it at the moment. For those thinking to change their industry, the main reasons are lack of satisfaction with the present strategy or the lack of perspective in their current industry. In the opinion of the General Managers in Serbia, the sectors that have seen the greatest improvements in the quality and development of employees, compared to the previous year are IT, Business Development, Finance and Sales. 60,78% think that Industry has suffered the most in 2009, followed by Consumer Goods (31,37%).
